'Die' Stubbs due in court

STEPHEN 'Die' Stubbs was expected to testify in court yesterday where he faces several charges in connection with a $6 million marijuana seizure.

However, the matter was put down to Monday, July 2 where the 37-year-old of Ridgeland Park, who elected earlier this year to give a sworn statement, will defend himself against two drug charges he pleaded not guilty to.

It is claimed that Stubbs, between September 5 and 30, 2009, conspired with others to import and possess dangerous drugs with intent to supply in Scott's Creek, Williams Town, Exuma.

He is charged along with 38-year-old Dion Minnis also known as Dion Rose, 51-year-old David Arlington Colebrooke and 57-year-old Selva Rudolph Hudson.

Evidence in trial up to yesterday revealed that the 3,935 pounds of marijuana came from Jamaica and was dropped off in Williams Town.

Colebrooke, who was on bail but is now on the run, had brought a boat into Nassau where police were waiting to arrest him, having used wire tap methods to catch the alleged drug dealer in the act.

Colebrooke was reportedly meeting up with Minnis and 'Die' Stubbs.

Hudson was arrested in the area of the drugs which police found when a GP was taken from the car Colebrooke left in and examined.

The track directed them to the drugs - $5,902,000 worth of marijuana in Exuma.

Murrio Ducille is defending Stubbs. Vernal Collie and Ambrose Armbrister are prosecuting the case.
