POLICE shot a 23-year-old man after an attempted raid on a Cost Rite store early yesterday morning.

Police say they got an anonymous call that two men in dark clothing were entering Town Center Mall on Blue Hill and Robinson Road, with what appeared to be bolt cutters.

Officers responded and found the western door of Cost Rite open.

Once inside, they saw two men fitting the description armed with an object with bags on their shoulders moving about the store.

When the suspects saw police, they tried to exit the store toward the officers.

One of the officers shot one of the suspects in the right leg.

When officers checked the bag that was being carried they found an assortment of phones, I-Pods and electronic games.

The suspect was taken to hospital where he was said to be in stable condition under police guard.

The other suspect ran and hid in the store but was subsequently found and arrested.

Police investigations continue.

Both men are from Fairfax Road, Ridgeland Park.

Police are also investigating a triple shooting through Nassau Street that left a teenage boy and two of his siblings in hospital.

Police say the 15-year-old boy, along with a 23-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were standing in front of a residence in the Christie Park area, when a man armed with a handgun opened fire.

All of the victims were shot in the leg and taken to hospital by ambulance.

They are said to be in stable condition.

Police investigations are continuing.

Police have one man in custody in connection with the country's latest homicide.

According to police, an argument over a woman led to the stabbing death of 22-year-old Javaughn Samuels of Claridge Road.

Samuels allegedly got into an altercation around 6.30pm Monday night in Union Village with a man known to him.

He was stabbed to the upper chest with a kitchen knife and taken to hospital by ambulance where he died of his injuries a short time later.

Police have a man in custody who is said to be assisting them in their investigations.

The country's homicide count is now 68 for the year.
