Can you give a cat a home?

THE Bahamas Humane Society and BAARK! are desperately seeking foster homes for animals in need of temporary shelter.

The two animal welfare groups are currently overwhelmed with stray or abandoned dogs and cats - many of which will be killed if foster homes cannot be found - but say they could save countless more lives with more volunteers.

BAARK! also needs help with its Sunday Dog Walk and Straybusting (picking up strays for spay and neuter) programme, while the BHS needs persons to volunteer time at its shelter, helping with walking, bathing and socialising dogs and cats.

The groups are holding a a joint volunteer meeting on Thursday at Green Parrot, 7pm and all interested persons are invited to attend.

"We are so overwhelmed at the moment, any help at all would go such a long way," a BAARK! representative said.
