BAHAMAS Faith Ministries Youth Church is responding to the social ills plaguing communities in Nassau with an event designed to provide young people with a clear cut life path.

The Youth Alive 2012 conference is an annual event the church hosts. According to organisers the event is considered one of the premier youth conferences in this region and the world.

The conference is a four day event that starts July 4 at the Diplomat Center.

During the event young individuals in the community as well as those active in the church conference will receive helpful information that will train and develop them.

"In our world today most of the crime and major social problems are attributed to youth and in particular men. The vast majority of the murder accused and the victims have been young men. Our youth are obviously in need of guidance and intervention."

"Youth Alive is our response as a church and organisation to the cry of youth for guidance and positive alternatives. We address issues young people are faced with. This conference will provide, practical, relevant answers to these challenges in a way that young people can relate to, stressing leadership training," said youth pastor of Bahamas Faith Ministries Dave Burrows.

The conference also aims to strengthen the faith of believers but also to reach out to those who do not have a clear direction for their lives.

This year's event is loaded with prolific speakers, musical artists and dramatists. The conference will open with a drama production "The Ladder". Pastor Mike Hill of St Louis Missouri and Pastor Burrows will also deliver the messages on the opening day.

On Saturday July 7, the conference will end with a major concert featuring a number of gospel artists and a boat cruise on Sunday night.

Performing at the concert will be acclaimed Christian Caribbean artist Sherwin Gardner, Millyon of Atlanta Georgia, Manifest, Landlord, DJ Counsellor and a host of others.

In the past Youth Alive attracted over 5,000 young people from the United States, Canada, Europe, Nassau and Family Islands.

"It will be a lively, energetic event with dynamic teaching, music, drama and special events that has over the years captivated young people from all around the world," Pastor Burrows said.

Other Youth Alive 2012 speakers include Dr Myles Munroe, Angie Burrows who serve as hosts for the event, Eric Foxx of Teen Challenge, Tim Johnson of the Church of God of Prophecy, Raymond and Brook Eneas of Ft Lauderdale Florida among others.
