WHEN the family of Akio 'Ninja' Francis received the call on April Fools' Day that 20-year-old Ninja was shot, and in critical condition, they took it for a joke.

In fact, he had been shot along with three others outside the Luna night club in West Bay Street.

"We did not believe it, but when we went to the hospital and saw his body, that was when we knew," said sister Antonia Horton.

He had died at the scene of the shooting.

Today, Antonia remembers her one and only brother as a shoulder to lean on and a 'go-getter' who never depended on anyone.
