Incident may have been suicide bid

POLICE are investigating the possible attempted suicide of a 47-year-old woman.

According to police reports a 47-year-old resident of West Bay Street was found unresponsive at her home by family members around 4:30pm on Saturday after she is believed to have overdosed on pills.

The victim was taken to the hospital and is currently listed in stable condition.

A 27-year-old man is in the hospital after being shot outside his home.

The victim, a resident of Millennium Gardens, was sitting outside his home around 1am on Saturday when he was approached and shot in the leg by one of three armed men. He was taken to hospital in a private car and is currently listed in stable condition.

Two men are in police custody in connection with a recent armed robbery.

According to initial police reports, around 11:40pm on Friday a man was walking on Sea Breeze Lane when he was held up at gun point by two men and robbed of his jewellery.

Southern Division officers arrested the culprits around 12:45am on Saturday on Charles Saunders Highway.

The victim's jewellery and a Honda Accord, which is believed to have been stolen, were recovered.

A 31-year-old man of Nassau Village is in police custody after assaulting a woman with a handgun.

According to the police the woman was on Mall Road, Soldier Road when she was gun butted. Officers of the Mobile Division arrested the suspect on Soldier Road shortly before 2am Saturday. He was carrying a handgun and a quantity of ammunition.
