FREEPORT - BAHAMIAN authorities seized $1,000 worth of dangerous drugs and arrested four illegal immigrants at an apartment in the Lucaya area.

Asst Supt Loretta Mackey said police and immigration officers were conducting a check around noon on May 16 when they made the discovery.

She reported that two men and one female ages 28, 37 and 43 from the Dominican Republic, and a 55-year-old Jamaican national were arrested and taken into custody by immigration officials.

While conducting a further search of the apartment, she said officers also discovered one pound of suspected marijuana.

Investigations are continuing into the matter.
