Police investigate woman's death by stabbing

POLICE are investigating the circumstances into the stabbing death of a 27-year-old woman.

The victim, of White's Addition, Kemp Road, was taken to hospital by a private vehicle with multiple stab wounds around 3pm last Friday,

She died yesterday afternoon. Police are uncertain of the details surrounding her death.

Inspector Chrislyn Skippings said police had not yet classified her death as they were awaiting additional information.

However, a 51-year-old man of Lyon Road is assisting police in their investigations.

In a separate case, police are questioning three men, a Bahamian, a Dominican and a Cuban in connection with a recent break-in.

Police say they received information around 4.30pm Wednesday that a house on Charles Saunders Highway was being raided.

Officers from the Southwestern division went to the home where they arrested the men and recovered several items including flat screen televisions, laptops, cell phones and ipods.

Officers from the same division also arrested two other men, in two separate incidents, after they were found in possession of dangerous drugs.

A 27-year-old male, of Cowpen Road, was arrested around 4.45pm after he was found with half a pound of suspected marijuana.

A second arrest occurred around 8.10pm and resulted in a 20-year-old man, also of Cowpen Road, being arrested after he was found with eight pounds and twelve ounces of suspected marijuana.

The drugs together weighed an estimated nine-and-a-half pounds and have an estimated street value of $9,500.

Active police investigations continue.
