NOW that the heated election season is over and Bahamians have made their choice, The Big T decided to lighten things up a bit by asking its female readers which male candidates they would have preferred to see in the House of Assembly and in the Senate based not on party or issues, but on sheer sex appeal and charisma.

The list – which is in random order – follows last year’s highly popular ‘Tribune Political Hunks’ and features old favourites as well as some fresh faces as the top 15 political hunks of 2012.

This is for our readers’ entertainment only.

• Howard Johnson - If you thought this FNM Central and South Eleuthera candidate was not a hunk, the ladies say you “have been had, hoodwinked, bamboozled and lied to”. “I think Howard is super attractive and he was the most passionate speaker in the FNM’s line-up. Passion is very sexy,” said Patricia.

• Khaalis Rolle - The former head of the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce has definitely caught the attention of several Big T readers who say that they are drawn to his hunky physique. “Khaalis is dark and lovely with a manly chin. He reminds me of Ridge from ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’,” said Tawana.

• Fred Mitchell - The impeccably dressed newly returned Minister of Foreign Affairs has our readers dreaming of his debonair smile. “Fred is so, so hot. I think that he is the best,” said Tanishka.

• Cassius Stewart - Big T women find this new FNM member appealing because of his passion for politics and determination to try win a seat in the House. “Cassius is so cute, he reminds me of a teddy bear, you just want to squeeze him. I wish he had won a seat to give the House some eye candy,” said Trisha.

• Dr Duane Sands - Women love the good doctor because he not only literally holds hearts in his hands, but he looks good doing it. “He just looks so very distinguished,” said Bee. “He looks so gentle and charming, and his intelligence doesn’t hurt either,” said Francis.

• Clay Sweeting - Another political newcomer bursting onto the scene, fisherman Clay managed to reel in the ladies with his rugged sun-kissed looks. The new BAIC chairman was quite the hit with the ladies as he pushed his Bahamian food security agenda on the campaign trail. “I like him because he is fishing rich. All that time on the boat working in the sun, he is definitely in good shape. Fishermen are known to be hunks and he can catch me anytime,” said Tia.

• Dr Andre Rollins- This NDP turned PLP dentist scored a seat in Parliament as result of his campaign in Fort Charlotte, endearing himself to thousands of Bahamian women in the process. “I love Dr Rollins, he is very attractive and the fact that he is a dentist means he is super educated, and I am thrilled that he will be in the news more now that he is a MP,” said Jenna.

• Mark Humes- This smooth-talking DNA chairman and educator gave the PLPs and FNMs a run for their money, scoring an impressive number of votes and stealing the hearts of women across the country. “Mark is a tall, lean super hunk. He has that Tyson Beckford kinda thing going on; very, very sexy,” said Michelle.

• Leslie Miller - Described as the “sexy silver fox” in last year’s political hunks list, the newly elected member for Tall Pines is still charming the ladies with his good looks and forthrightness. “For an older man he is swag sexy,” said Lisa. “I would rub his salt and pepper hair all night.”

• Desmond Bannister- The former Education Minister and newly appointed FNM Senator scores an A + on the report card of many women who say they love his classically handsome looks. “I have always thought that Desmond was attractive. He just has that dark and luscious look,” said Arnette.

• Dr Hubert Minnis - The Opposition House Leader who may replace Papa as FNM party leader is also the leading man of choice for many Big T readers. “Dr Minnis has an exotic face. He is also a genuinely nice and charismatic person and an excellent MP. The ladies of Killarney love him,” said Phillipa.

• Branville McCartney - His DNA party made history this election by scoring more than 13,000 votes, and while the charismatic leader failed to retain his Bamboo Town seat, he still owns the hearts of many Bahamian women who said they are impressed by his confidence and dazzling smile. “Bran still has it, make no mistake, that man is fine,” said Sanika.

• Zhivargo Laing- The short, raspy-voiced new FNM Senator is the former Minister of State for Finance and women say you can take his sexiness to the bank. “Zhivargo is super smart, knows what to do with money and is super attractive. You have to put him on the list for hunks,” said Priscala.

Chile please. Some of these fellows have no business being on this list. Anyhow, let me add my favourite hunks: Michael Pintard, John Bostwick, Dr. Danny Johnson, Dr. Darville, Greg Burrows, Farrell Goff and my favourite, Byran Woodside.
