Family Guardian has once again partnered with the Barracuda Swim Club to host the 27th annual Family Guardian Swim Meet at the Betty Kelly Kenning National Swim Complex, starting at 6pm today - the meet is slated to wrap up after Saturday’s session swim which is set to begin at 9am.

According to a press statement, the meet is the last qualifier for swimmers who want to become eligible for the Speedo Winter Championships in Plantation, Florida, November 15–8.

“The Barracuda Swim Club already has 29 swimmers that have qualified and they are looking to add to this number after this weekend’s meet,” said the release.

The swim meet is the first one since the RBC Bahamas National Swimming Championships in June this year.

“The swimmers have trained hard all summer and are ready to put the skills and techniques they have developed in the competition pool,” the release said.

As a corporate sponsor and a leading provider of financial services in the Bahamas, Family Guardian has supported the Barracuda Swim Club for the past 26 years, and continues to help build the sport of swimming in the Bahamas.

The Barracuda Swim Club, with head coach Sue Coleby and senior competitive coach Travano McPhee, is a parent-run club that continues to grow.

“The swimmers are enthusiastic about coming to practices and they are all training very hard. The club has both excellent learn-to-swim and competitive programmes and looks forward to a great swim year. With Coleby and Mcphee, the club is destined for success,” said the release.
