Man shot in head and left to die

A MAN in his early twenties was shot in the head and killed off Tonique Williams Darling Highway yesterday afternoon.

According to reports, police were dispatched to the area east of Burger King after an anonymous caller reported that a man was bleeding and appeared lifeless.

When officers arrived, they discovered the man bleeding from a gunshot wound in his head. He was still “gasping” for air.

According to police sources, the victim was found bare back, wearing a short pair of dark blue jeans and a pair of black and white tennis. He was also bleeding from the mouth and nose.

However, he died on the scene before the ambulance arrived and was pronounced dead by EMS personnel.

Police have yet to identify the man - who became the country’s 97th murder victim for the year.
