MEMBERS of Holy Cross Church are calling Bahamians to join them this Saturday as they play host to an exciting fair for the entire family to enjoy.
The event theme comes from the hit song “It’s A Family Affair.” It is also being held under the auspices of Mascot “Rugged”, a symbol of the old rugged cross.
The Holy Cross Church grounds will be transformed to a child’s dream place, resembling a circus and amusement park all rolled into one package.
According to members of the church, they also decided to include Nickelodeon characters Dora, Diego and the Backyardian Squad as entertainment for the children planning to be in attendance.

Many other cultural and fine art performances are all set to hit the stage as well.
Major features and highlights of the fair will include a guest appearance by The Royal Bahamas Police Force Band and the debut of the Holy Cross Church Community Band.
“Children from the church and the surrounding neighbourhood make up the composition of the band membership. This maiden voyage of the band performing, promises to be the show stopper. The band which began formation in May 2012 got started from instruments donated by the congregation. The marching band is approximately forty members strong,” said members.
At the event, there will be food choices such as “conchy” conch fritters, conch salad made before your eyes, home cookery, gourmet hamburgers, hot dogs.

There will also be a free clinic testing for cholesterol, blood pressure and sugar testing. Pharmacist will also be present to give advice.
“Holy Cross church remains committed, and strives to fulfil their mission statement which is, to bring people, transform people and equip people to live out their full potential in the body of Christ through study and our worship experience,” said organisers.
