PM disgrace

EDITOR, The Tribune.

It is disgraceful for our Prime Minister to stand in Parliament on Wednesday the 31st October and talk about a Referendum on Numbers and not talk about all of the poor people who suffered so much damage during Sandy.

I understand it was Halloween and the slogan for Halloween is –Trick or Treat – but that does not mean a Prime Minister is supposed to try to trick his people.

The people of this country who suffered need to be treated and treated quickly to help them get their lives back in order. The referendum can wait until this is done.

The only conclusion that I can come to is – there is pressure being put on the Government by the numbers people to get this passed. Also I believe the reason for no Lottery being a part of the referendum is because the numbers bosses realize that if there is a Lottery then it will cut down on the profits that they would make because a lot of people would buy Lottery tickets instead of Numbers because they would have a chance at winning a lot more money and so I guess they have told the Prime Minister they do not want a Lottery and by hiring the consultants it gives the PM a good excuse to say no to the Lottery and blame it on the consultants.

All of the talk about taking this country to the First World is just that – TALK — because no country can be taken to the first world until its Government makes the citizens first class, not second class.

A VERY CONCERNED BAHAMIAN

(The Prime Minister has not released the consultants’ report, nor has he given Bahamians the name of the person/persons or firm he consulted.
