Searching for the best and brightest primary school students in the Bahamas

THE board of the directors of the Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Foundation and the executive board of the Nassau, Bahamas Pan-Hellenic Council have announced a three month nationwide search for the “best and brightest” primary school students in the country.

The Foundation called the effort an “unprecedented opportunity to recognise a group of students who are often overlooked and seldom appreciated”.

Foundation president and CEO Ricardo Deveaux said the award programme, which since 1997 has been recognising students who demonstrate academic proficiency and leadership both at school and in their community, now wants to focus on younger students as well.

The Foundation has issued application packages to all primary schools in New Providence, Grand Bahama and the Family Islands and Mr Deveaux said they trust each school will take this “golden opportunity” to have its students listed among the “Who’s Who in Primary School”.
