Teenage boy accused of church sacrilege

A TEEN boy has been taken into custody in connection with a sacrilege investigation, according to police.

The 16-year-old was detained for questioning after the discovery of a large quantity of cash believed to be the property of a church on Baillou Hill Road South.

The money was found just before 3pm on Sunday by Mobile Division officers acting on a tip.

Meanwhile, another 16-year-old boy from South Beach was taken in for questioning in connection with an armed robbery, while a 43-year-old Forbes Street man was detained in connection with a house breaking investigation and a 30-year-old Abraham Street man was detained on claims he violated his bail conditions.

Police also disclosed that they are investigating the discovery of what is thought to be a human bone on a property off Carmichael Road.

The find was made just after 3pm yesterday on Mermaid Boulevard west.

Police said the bone was collected and will be examined to determine its origin.
