Schoolgirl breaks leg in accident

A HIGH school girl is lucky to be alive today after she was hurt in a collision with a vehicle shortly after 4:30pm yesterday on Soldier Road.

According to police press liaison officer Chrislyn Skippings, the incident occurred near Revak Close on Soldier Road south.

The girl suffered a broken leg and was taken from the scene by EMS personnel.

Bystanders at the scene diverted traffic through Malcolm Allotment to help alleviate the massive traffic jam that occurred after the girl was hit.

The girl, whose name and age were not released by the police, is reportedly a student of a school in the area.
