DURING the upcoming Job Fair Conference, internationally renowned pastor Dr Jonathan McKnight will emphasise and reinforce the power of prayer in the life of believers.

The conference is presented by Jonathan McKnight Ministries and Bethel’s Restoration Revival Centre. It will take place over a span of two days at the Bethel’s Restoration Revival Centre starting November 28. It will feature intercessors, worshippers and prayer warriors. Bishop Simeon Hall, along with other pastors, will intercede through prayer during the conference.

Dr McKnight is the guest speaker of the conference. He is the senior pastor of the Sanctuary of Praise Ministries in Orlando, Florida. In addition to being an author, singer, songwriter, entrepreneur and global philanthropist, Dr McKnight is also a regular host of Trinity Broadcasting Network’s “Praise the Lord”. He is the author of “Prayer is a Must” and “I Did it in the Name of Love”.

“My purpose here in the Bahamas is three-fold. We want to bring the nation to God, to cry out for deliverance during this time. Many people are hurting, and events like this in the past have been therapy for many people. I believe the Lord is calling us to do this,” he told Tribune Religion.

Dr McKnight said prayer will be put to the forefront, as some people take for granted its power and the principles associated with it. He said attendees will learn how to pray, the dos and don’ts of prayer, and why it is a requirement for all believers to pray. “It is important for believers to know this because it is the key to getting God to show up in one’s life and deliver,” he said.

“Prayer is a requirement for Christians. It is our direct interaction with God. Why do you think Jesus said to always pray? He did not say that about worship, he said that about prayer because he knows how prayer affects God. Even when he was on this Earth he prayed continually, he never stopped praying,” Dr McKnight said.

Some Christians do not know how to pray or what should be said during prayer, he said. For this reason, how to pray will be addressed during the conference.

Dr McKnight said there is much more to prayer than simply talking to God. He said when one prays one must make all requests known to God.

“When you pray, you must acknowledge God and his lordship. This shows that you believe because he is Lord he will answer your prayers and petitions. When Jesus was on the cross, the thief who was crucified with him asked Jesus to remember him in paradise. Because he believed Jesus was Lord he was saved,” Dr McKnight said.

During his time here in the Bahamas, Dr McKnight also hosted a signing for his prayer book.

“While we are here we believe that God is going to release something supernatural. This is going to be a wonderful experience for all in attendance,” he said.
