Grace Community Church, formerly Grace Gospel Chapel, on Sunday, November 25, celebrated 40 years in its new location in Palmetto Village, Marathon. The church was established some 67 years ago on East Shirley Street.
Highlights of the celebration were the honouring of persons who have unbroken membership with the church for the past 40 years and the naming of two centres in the new extensions to the facility.
The “Youth Centre” was named after Elder Emeritus Charles R. Wallace for his faithfulness to the young people and generally his visionary leadership over the past 56 years. His wife, Mrs. Angela Wallace, was also honoured for being a supportive and loving wife to her husband.
The “Fellowship and Hospitality Centre” was named after Elder Emeritus Herbert L. Treco for his long service of 56 years of faithfulness, generosity and hospitality. His wife, Mrs. Marjorie Treco, was also honoured for being a loving and supportive wife to her husband.
