POLICE were still combing though missing persons reports yesterday in hopes of tracking down the family of the man found dead two days ago.

Paul Rolle, Central Detective Unit chief, told The Tribune that once police find the relatives, they will be able to release more information.

He said: “We are still trying to identify the person in that we are trying to meet with families. But there are no other concrete details.”

On Wednesday night officials discovered the partially decomposed body of a man in bushes outside an unfinished home off Marshall Road.

At the scene, Assistant Superintendent Solomon Cash said the matter had instantly turned from a missing persons case into a homicide after a man in their custody told them where he had dumped the victim.

Supt Cash said police had been searching for a man since September 17.

“Around mid-day today (Wednesday), police on patrol arrested a 32-year-old male who was the subject assisting police with the missing person inquiry.

“Later in the evening police interviewed this individual who directed the officers here to this location where we discovered the partly decomposed body of a male who was lying in the bush here at the scene,” Supt Cash said.

He added that an unlicensed firearm was also confiscated as part of the case.

This incident has pushed the murder count for the year to 102.

Active investigations are ongoing, police said.
