RENALDO'S RAMBLINGS: NFL WEEK FOUR AWARDS

Welcome back. So many good things returned to us in week four, the first quarter of the season was capped with somewhat of a renaissance. The real referees came back, the real Patriots came back, a respectable number for me in the picks column came back, and there was even an appearance by the ghost of Chris Johnson’s talent of season’s past.  I’m excited for the second quarter of the season, not at all excited about Dan Carpenter’s leg deciding games for the Dolphins down the stretch, but I digress...

Week 4 Awards

  • The “As Long As This Continues We Can’t Ever Take You Seriously” Award presented by the Rick Ross/Young Jeezy and Gunplay/50 Cent Entourage brawls at the recent taping of the BET Awards - Tim Tebow at fullback, blocking, running routes and despite not playing quarterback, getting the spotlight on every play.

  • The “Your Minimal Success Couldn’t Be More Irrelevant At This Point” Award presented by the North Abaco Bye Election - Chris Johnson rushing for 25 yards and 141 yards in a blowout loss against the Texans. We’ve all but given up on you at this point.

  • The “We Don’t Really Care How The Rest Of This Plays Out, We’re Just Happy To Have You Back” Award presented by the season premieres of Dexter and Homeland Sunday on Showtime - The real-official-bonafide-honest to goodness-NFL Referees returning to save us all this week.

  • The “Now is Winter Of Your Discontent…Things Just Got Real” Award presented by the first of many Obama/Romney debates tonight - Tom Brady and the Patriots after turning a 21-7 halftime deficit into a 52-28 win against Buffalo. Here they come.

  • The “I’m Staying As Far Away From This As Possible, I Don’t Care How Attractive It Looks Right Now” Award presented by Tim Tebow turning down Kim K’s date offer during the height of his popularity in the 2011 season - The undefeated Arizona Cardinals as contenders. Don’t trust them, not one bit.

  • The “No Matter How Good You Are On the Field, It’ll Never Top What You Won Off The Field” presented by Andy Roddick (and Brooklyn Decker) - Ryan Tannehill after his 431 yard, one touchdown performance on the road in Arizona. If you’ve ever seen Lauren Tannehill, you will understand.
