THE audition phase of the competition is over. The contestants who made the cut for X Factor USA are “in it to win it”.
In last week’s auditions, viewers received their weekly X Factor fix with unforgettable acts from Dinah Jane Hanson, Arin Ray, David Correy, Daryl Black, Changyi Li and Sophie Tweed-Simmons.
Whether good or bad, the contestants did whatever it took to impress judges L A Reid, Simon Cowell, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato. Everyone performed from a lovestruck singing duo to a fifteen year old coming from a home of twenty family members.

Fifteen year old Dinah Jane Hansen opened up and shared a story about her living situation with her family, but the last thing she was looking for was a hand out. She was determined to show the judges she had the talent they were in search for.
Taking the stage, the California native put her all into Beyonce’s “If I were a Boy.” Even though some fans agreed that her performance was great, they disagreed with L A Reid when he said:

“You took that thing to places that even Beyonce didn’t take it and you didn’t copy her.”
“She is definitely heading to the boot camp rounds but what is up with L A Reid and these off the wall comments. He always selling the most dreams. She is talented and she sounds good yes, but she did not sing that song as good as Beyonce. He needs to stop and give people honest commentary,” said one fan via their Facebook page.
X Factor auditions always reveal that hilarious contestant who has everyone in tears crying.

The winner of that title this episode was contestant Changy Li.
The 52 year old Chinese lady fully dressed as sailor woman, butchered Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On”. Before singing the song, Simon joked around and asked her if she is married. Changy Li replied that she is not married as yet because she is picky.
Still caught in his humorous state, after her performance, Simon told her:

“The good news is if they ever remake the film (Titanic), you could replace the iceberg. Just sing the song and down it goes.” She thanked him and Simon assured her that it was not a compliment.“Is this woman serious? Man what is this. I am sure these people don’t be thinking when they sign up for this show. Or they must take it for a joke or something because she was horrendous,” said a Bahamian viewer.
The lovesick couple known as “Jamie” took the stage shortly after. Singing an original song, the duo received comments such as: “work for a cruise line”, “so corny” and “I don’t get it” from viewers, and all around thumbs down from the judges.

Capturing the hearts of many, 37 year old Daryl Black, a father of five, took to the stage. Before singing “Stereo Hearts,” he told the judges when he wins the competition he is going to buy a big “unicycle” and a pair of “leather shorts” with his $5 million prize money.

“That voice is just beautiful. A father of five wow; he is by far one of my favourites and he just blew up that X Factor stage. I really enjoyed that performance and I would love to hear him sing again,” a Bahamian viewer said.
The first two boot camp episodes will air tonight and tomorrow night, beginning at 8pm on FOX network. Tune in to see your favourite contestants such as Paige Thomas, Emblem3, Carly Rose Soneciar, Josef Washington Jr and the Boyle Brothers just to name a few.
