FREEPORT – A 27-year-old man was arrested in connection with a hit and run accident involving a pedestrian last Friday.
According to police reports, the incident occurred around 3.30pm on September 28 in the area of Ponce de Leon Drive.
Police said the driver of a maroon-coloured van struck a 16-year-old pedestrian and fled the scene.
The pedestrian sustained injuries and was taken to Rand Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.
A man had been arrested and was expected to be formally arraigned in the magistrate’s court.
