TALENTED youngsters will show off their skills in performing arts at the Christian Youth Talent Jam next Friday.

The event is hosted by Pastor Dave Burrows and Total Youth Church of Bahamas Faith Ministries and is designed to get young people to channel their gifts into positive activities.

Talent Jam is considered the premiere Christian youth talent event in the Bahamas and has served to launch the careers of many popular young artists including Landlord, Christian Massive, Manifest, Ta Da, and Dunamus. The newly launched group Gospel Boys also got their big break at the annual event.
“Talent Jam has been the one outlet for many Christian teens with talent to express themselves and exhibit their talents in many different styles and forms”, said Randi Blue, secretary of the youth ministry at the church.

“This is where young Christians can broadcast themselves. Once their talent is on the path of God, and they have a message with their music or whatever their talent is, they can participate in Talent Jam. We want them to be seen and heard. We invite youth from different schools, different churches to be part of the event,” she told Tribune Religion.

In the past hundreds of youth have participated in the event. The youth ministry is encouraging people to come out and show their support.
Contestants will showcase talent in all styles of music, drama, poetry, and dance.

The competition is open to persons between the ages of 13 and 23.
In addition to the competition, there will be a special performance by DJ Counsellor, who will also co-host the event with Pastor Dave “Davy B” Burrows. Organisers say the event will be “fun filled.”
The group at Bahamas Faith Ministries hosts a number of events geared towards young people. Another major event hosted by the group is the annual Youth Alive Conference featuring gospel artists and speakers from around the world.

The ministry’s aim is to “revolutionise the way that teens see church and Christianity.”
Entry forms for the competition are available at Faith Life Bookstore and Megabyte Computers.
