REGISTRATION

THE Grand Bahama Conchman Triathlon is slated to be held on Saturday, November 3. The one-kilometre swim, 25K bike and 5K run will be held around Taino Beach. Registration will take place at the Manor House, The Grand Lucayan from 6-7pm Thursday, November 1 and 6-8pm on Friday, November 2, followed by the pre-race meeting at 7:30 pm. Pre-registration can also be done online at conchman.com

TOURNEY

WITH the first weekend of the 19th annual L Garth Wright Golden Gloves in the books, Champion Amateur Boxing Club is scheduled to continue the four-week tournament with the second round on Saturday at the Wulff Road Boxing Square.

In matches contested, Michael Newbold won over Jonae Brown after the referee stopped the contest in the second round, Roscoe Armbrister won 12-10 over John Brown, Deonta Tinker defeated Marco Fernander 15-10, Gabriel Newbold def. Roscoe Armbrister 17-14 and in two exhibition matches, Don Rolle went up against Dencil and Donovan Taylor met Theodore Mott.

The best fight was between John Brown and Marco Armbrister, the most improved boxer was Deonta Tinker and the most valuable boxer was Gabriel Newbold.

The tournament is being sponsored by Nirvana Beach, d’Albenas Agency, Bahamas Vision Centre, Wallace-Whitfield & Co and the Battery & Tyre Specialist Ltd.

THE St Augustine’s College Alumni Association has announced that the 7th annual Uncle Lou Road Race is set for Saturday, November 17. The event will comprise of three divisions - cycling, running and walking.
