• Accuweather's latest forecast map shows the current position of Hurricane Sandy and its projected path.

At 8am, Sandy had maximum sustained winds of 80mph and was 15 miles east of Abaco.

A Hurricane Warning was in effect for the northwestern Bahamas, expect Andros, and a Tropical Storm Warning was in effect for the central Bahamas.

• Police are reporting that 66-year-old Lyford Cay man was found dead last night after going outside to fix a shutter. He was discovered by a family member. Investigations continue.

• Princess Margaret Hospital has released information for both dialysis patients and staff:

ALL Princess Margaret Hospital Dialysis Patients are advised that Patients scheduled for Dialysis on Friday October 26th, 2012 are asked to report to the Unit for their treatment at their regular time on Saturday October 27th, 2012.

Patients scheduled for Dialysis on Saturday October 27th, 2012 are asked to report to the Unit for their treatment at their regular time on Sunday October 28th, 2012.

Management apologises for any inconvenience caused, and ask your full cooperation in this regard.
