POLICE are investigating the alleged rape of a 47-year-old man early Saturday morning on Gladstone Road.

According to police sources, the man – a Venice Bay resident – said he was in the Gladstone Road area around 4am on Saturday when he asked a man for a ride.

The victim told police when he got in the vehicle another man was also in the passenger seat.

He said the men told him they would drive him to Venice Bay, but instead drove him past the police gun range where they gun butted him, beat him and both raped him.

He also told police they robbed him of $280 in cash before abandoning him.

The victim said he walked for help and was assisted by another man who saw him and called the ambulance and the police.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police are also investigating the alleged rape of a 17-year-old girl on Montagu Beach around 3am on Saturday.

Sources say the girl told police she had been raped on the beach by a man she had met on-line and his friend. Police arrested two suspects, ages 21 and 22.

Active investigations are continuing.
