THREE men accused of committing a food store robbery in Nicholls Town, Andros were arraigned in Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Tony Newton, 19, of San Andros; Brenden Mackey, 22; and Avardo Mackey, 20, of North Andros, appeared before Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez, each facing one count of armed robbery.
It is claimed that on Sunday, August 26, while armed with a handgun and shotgun, the trio robbed Bernadette Bowleg of $1,829.23 belonging to Pineville Foodstore.
They were not required to enter a plea and were remanded to prison without bail while they await trial in Supreme Court, which will follow the presentation of a Voluntary Bill of Indictment.
