THE CHURCH of God of Prophecy is revealing the plans of the enemy in every way possible with “Xpose 2 - Out of the Box”.

The event is presented by the church’s Love Centre and set for September 14 at Church of God of Prophecy Ernest and York Street.

Organisers, said this event is especially crucial for young Christians, who may be oblivious to subliminal messages, flooded in the media, movies, video games, the Internet, and music.

One example of subliminal messages, are movies targeted to children that present magic and witchcraft as something harmful or innocent. She said, this is just one way Satan gets his message across.

“The event is centred on addressing subliminal messages that are filtered via visual arts and movies. The whole objective of the event is to highlight the dangers of listening to music that is not motivational and inspirational. We will address the hidden messages found in various movies and the focus will be on how subtle messages of demonic influence can be filtered through individuals just by watching a movie that may seem so innocent have hidden message of witch craft,” said Samita Ferguson organiser of “Xpose 2”.

By Christians uncovering the plans of the enemy and understanding how Satan operates, it can enable them to recognise underlying messages. This is important for believers so that they do not fall into the pit of deception,” she said.

One of the reasons why Satan has been so successful in infiltrating the media with negative messages, and advancing his agenda Ms Ferguson said, is because some people are either not aware or have underestimated the power the media has on influencing a person’s thoughts and beliefs. With the power of movies, music, and other mediums fully realised, Christians will be prone to persuasion that does not line up with the word of God.

“There are studies that have shown that after one has engaged in music, for example that says, you might as well ‘die, die, die life is not worth’, most likely they would have thoughts of committing suicide especially if they are going through hardship in their lives.

Then there are stories of back massing in music. For example if one were to play certain songs by an artist backwards, in some cases there will be mumble jumble about satan and worshipping him,” she said.

“The sad part is the music that does not inspire, are the ones that are making the hits and the ones young people sing so often without no awareness of what the song is actually saying. We want to expose this and educate the young and old on the importance of engaging in positive mediums, and not ones that are negative and destructive,” she told Tribune Religion.

The event will bring to the forefront all forms of art to minister to audiences. These performances will be done during the worship segment. There will also be a dramatic expression piece by the Love Centre’s messengers drama group. Other highlight performances include Lenielle Michelle Mime, Jason Rahming, ATG Mime Group, Spoken Word by Jenna Pratta, and Angelica Rocker.

“This is our second time hosting an event. We anticipate a time where one can enjoy positive pieces via paintings, music, and drama, and most important be educated about the negative forces that one can encounter from engaging the media. We are going to expose at “Xpose 2” 2012,” she said.
