A fire ripped through a single-storey, wooden structure on Flint and East Streets early yesterday morning, completely destroying an elderly man’s home.
The man was not at home at the time and no one was injured in the blaze. However, traffic had to be diverted because of downed electrical power lines.
The fire was eventually extinguished by firefighters at around 9am.
