COACHED by Nelson Joseph, Xavier’s basketball team is stacked with a lot of talent this year and looking to win its first title in some time in the Catholic Diocesan Primary Schools Basketball League. “We have a few seniors returning such as Zion ‘Mr Clutch’ Bannister, Winston ‘The Mamba’ Davis, Dante ‘Mini Coop’ Cooper and Koen Dean,” said a press release. “We hope that they along with the supporting cast of Tate Isaacs, Albert Campbell, Shannon Hudson, Kevin Thompson, Dean Saunders and Aaron Major amongst others, we will take us to the championship. Our team this year, although is short, has a lot of quick skilled players. We anticipate a very exciting season. “We just started practicing but all of our players are very enthused to work very hard to get the job done. The season usually starts the second week of October and we will definitely be ready.”
