POLICE are investigating a traffic accident that left one man dead in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The incident reportedly took place around 4.30am. The victim was riding a bicycle west along Tonique Williams-Darling Highway, in the area of Workers House, when he was struck by a Ford Mustang.
He was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries.
Police are encouraging members of the public who cycle during the night to wear reflective clothing (jacket/vest/ pants) to increase their visibility to drivers.
Bicycles should also have a functional headlight and rear light.
Police also reminded the public that failing to remain at the scene of an accident is an offence which carries a fine of between $500 and $1,000.
Investigations continue.
