Man fights for life after crash

A 20-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital today after being thrown from his vehicle in a crash early yesterday morning.

According to reports, the young man was driving a 2011 Honda CRV east along East-West Highway when he lost control of the vehicle, which flipped six times before coming to stop.

The driver was thrown from the vehicle.

He received serious head injuries and is listed in critical condition.

Active investigations continue.

A 15-year-old boy is also in hospital after being stabbed several times by a group of a men.

The incident reportedly occurred around 4pm on Tuesday.

Police say the stabbing took place after the teen was on East Street and got into an altercation with a group of men.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance where he is listed in serious but stable condition.

In other crime news, two men are in police custody after being found in possession of a large quantity of suspected marijuana.

The men, ages 42 and 35, were arrested around 12.20pm on Tuesday.

Police say Drug Enforcement Unit officers executed a search warrant on a home at Maple Street, Pinewood Gardens where they discovered the drugs.

The drugs weigh six pounds and have an estimated street value of $6,000.
