Humane Society draw delayed by illness

DUE to the illness of her husband, Bahamas Humane Society President Kim Aranha has announced that Sunday, April 21, will be the new date for the raffle draw for the society’s travel bonanza. The draw will be held at 4pm at Animal Fun Day in the Botanical Gardens.

The raffle delay was caused by Mrs Aranha having to fly to Florida with her husband, Capt Paul Aranha, for him to undergo tests for his heart.

“We expected to be there for four days,” said Mrs Aranha, “and ended up being there for four weeks and a day and he had emergency open heart surgery with his LAD 100 per cent blocked. The doctors said that he was a truly lucky man to be alive.”

The operation went well and the Aranhas are now back in Nassau with Mrs Aranha now turning her attention to the raffle.

The Travel Bonanza tickets are selling for $100 with a trip to London for two, a trip to New York for two, three Family Island trips (Cat Island, Abaco, Andros), and a Super Value voucher.

Tickets are still available at the Bahamas Humane Society Shelter, from Board members, and from members.
