BAHAMIAN Justin Roberts defeated Stephen L Watson, a promising up and coming US player in an ITF tourney in Daytona Beach, Florida, on Monday. Roberts won the match 6-3, 7-6 over 18-year-old Watson, who has an ITF ranking of 539.

THE old Thomas A Robinson Track and Field Stadium will be buzzing with activities once again this Saturday as the Silver Lightning Athletic Club hosts its annual Thomas A Robinson Track and Field Classic.

The event will feature competition in all age groups from under-7 to the open male and female categories. Medals will be presented to the first three finishers in each category, while ribbons will be distributed to the winners in the under-13 categories and lower.

The meet is being sanctioned by the Bahamas Association of Athletic Associations (BAAA) and the Bahamas Association of Certified Officials (BACO) will officiate. The meet director is Rupert Gardiner. All of the local clubs are expected to participate.
