RUTHERFORD

ELITE BAHAMIAN

EDUCATION

PROGRAMME

FOR more than 25 years, Frank Rutherford has travelled to the family islands giving back to the youths in the islands, conducting track and field, basketball and football camps and organising motivational speaking tours that have inspired youths in all the islands.

In every island Rutherford has travelled, he was not satisfied with just doing camps but identifying raw talent in these islands and when he leaves he takes a rough diamond with him to his Elite Bahamian Education Programme in Houston, Texas where the diamond is polished into a highly recruited college bound student athlete now in position to get a free college degree.

The work of the Elite Bahamian Education speaks for itself.

In the month of August, Rutherford will conduct his athletic combine camp in Acklins. The combine camp will measure height, speed, strength, basketball skills, football drills overall athletic skills of the youths on the island.

Rutherford always felt that the untapped talent is there in the family islands and wants to build a database of all kids in the islands and expose them to all sports that can lead them to a free college education and pro athletic careers.

The combine will be a one-week experience and Rutherford will make recommendations to parents as to the talents that their kids have and how to capitalise on opportunities that are out there for them.

The camp is also being held under the auspices of Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries Alfred Gray, who is the representative for MICA.
