TENNIS

BAHAMIANS IN JITIC

AFTER two days of gruelling round robin competition at the 2013 JITIC tournament in the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas was able to advance six players to the main draw in three divisions.

In the girls’ under-16, Dominique Mortier and Savannah Roberts will play in the main draw. Advancing in the girls’ under-14 were Sierra

Donaldson, Afrika Smith and Lauryn Daxon. The lone player advancing to the main draw in the boys’ under-14 was O’Neal Mortimer.

The main draw got started on Monday giving the Bahamas one more shot at winning an age division singles championship. All players not advancing to the main draw will play in the consolation draw.

CYCLING

BCF ACTION

THE Bahamas Cycling Federation has announced that its National Individual Time Trials is set for 8am Saturday, August 10, starting from Clifton Heritage Park. The event will be held to determine who is the fastest cyclist on two wheels.

Registration forms are available at Cycles Unlimited on Mackey Street or by contacting BACF/NPCA or Byron Musgrove.

In the month of September, the annual Tour De New Providence’s Bertram ‘Cowboy’ Musgrove Cycling Classic will be held.
