A STRING of arrests this weekend saw seven Colombian women taken into custody for “unlawfully engaging in gainful employment” in addition to three persons found in possession of ammunition, an imitation firearm, a ski mask, and a bulletproof vest.

All the arrests were made by officers of the Selective Enforcement Team (SET).

The Colombian women were arrested on Saturday. The women range in age from 31 years old to 22 years and were arrested by SET officers around 5pm at a business establishment on West Bay Street.

Eight undocumented Chinese women were also arrested by SET officers in a separate incident, around 9:15pm on Friday.

Also Friday, two men – ages 30 and 27 – were arrested by SET officers around 4:30pm after they were found in possession of a charcoal grey coloured Chevy Trail Blazer. It was reported that the car had been stolen.

Later that same day, after 5:30pm, a 41-year-old man and his 21-year-old daughter were taken into police custody when they were found in possession of a quantity of what was suspected to be marijuana.

SET officers arrested the two after executing a search warrant on a Croton Street home in Pinewood where they discovered the drugs.

Approximately 10 minutes later, around 5:40pm, SET officers arrested a 46-year-old woman, a 23-year-old woman, and a 17-year-old boy when they were found in possession of a large quantity of suspected marijuana, six hollow-point rounds, a ski mask, a bullet proof vest, and an imitation firearm.

The three were arrested around 5:40pm at Croton Street in Pinewood Gardens.
