THE body of a woman found dead near St Augustine’s Monastery, off Bernard Road, on Sunday, has been identified by police.

Officers said that she was 17-year-old Altarnika Young, of Monastery Heights, off Barnard Road.

According to reports, a jogger passing through a road just east of the monastery found her body at about 6pm.

Emergency personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene. She had no visible sign of injuries, and an autopsy will be carried out to determine the cause of death.

• Police have also identified a man shot and killed at Whites Addition, off Kemp Road, on Saturday.

The victim was Javina Ramonte McKenzie, of Sout Beach Estates. He was 27.

Police were notified of the incident at about 10:13pm on Saturday. The victim was shot multiple times to the body and was pronounced dead at the scene.

• Police have identified the man who died while swimming in waters with relatives at Lyford Cay Beach on Sunday as 74-year old Donald Aberle, of Kissidee Close, off West Bay Street.

At about 12:30pm, he was taken to shore by his relatives where he was pronounced dead by a local doctor. Foul play is not suspected.
