Rodney Moncur's preliminary inquiry into alleged 'grossly indecent' posting on Facebook

RODNEY Moncur's preliminary inquiry into an alleged 'grossly indecent' picture posting on Facebook began today in the magistrates' court.

The court heard from Detective Corporal Olson Noel who sat in on Moncur's March 30 record of interview with Insp Mark Barrett.

Olson claimed that Moncur admitted posting indecent images on Facebook but denied breaking into the Rand morgue at Princess Margaret Hospital.

Under cross-examination, Moncur asked the officer if he had given an alibi during the interview asking for Health Minister Dr Perry Gomez to be contacted.

The officer said that as far as he knew, there were no complaints from the minister or public hospital authority officials about a break in.

The inquiry resumes tomorrow and a warrant remains in effect for Sgt Dale Strachan who did not show up to today's proceedings.

Moncur requested a warrant be put out for the investigator, Barrett, whom he said is easy to locate.

Magistrate Constance Delancy denied the request.
