Two charged over thefts

FREEPORT – Two men were arraigned before the Courts on Monday in relation to a string of thefts from cars in the Smith’s Point area.

Michael Kenneth Cox, 23, of Holmes Rock, and Julian Javal Williams, 24, of Jones Town, Eight Mile Rock, appeared in Court One and Three before Magistrate Debbie Ferguson and Deputy Chief Magistrate Helen Jones, respectively.

The men were charged with seven counts of stealing from a vehicle and one count of causing damage.

It is alleged that the incidents occurred between Thursday, July 4 and Thursday, July 15 in the Smith’s Point area during the weekly of Fish Fry and the Junkanoo Festival.

Cox and Williams were not represented by counsel. They both pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The pair was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison, Fox Hill until February 26, 2014, and March 18, 2014.
