THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING LASTING UNTIL 7PM.

A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS EFFECT FOR CAT ISLAND, ANDROS, THE NORTHERN AND CENTRAL EXUMA CAYS AND THEIR ADJACENT WATERS AND CAYS.

A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR NORTH ELEUTHERA, NEW PROVIDENCE, BERRY ISLANDS AND NORTH ANDROS AND THEIR ADJACENT WATERS AND CAYS.

AT 11:50 AM SATELLITE IMAGERY INDICATED LARGE CLUSTERS OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS INTENSIFYING AND SPREADING OVER THE ABOVE MENTIONED AREAS.

SOME OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE SEVERE AT TIMES CAUSING STRONG GUSTY WINDS, DANGEROUS LIGHTNING, HEAVY DOWNPOURS WITH FLOODING IN LOW LYING OR FLOOD PRONE AREAS, POSSIBLE HAIL, AND WATERSPOUT OR TORNADIC ACTIVITY.

BOATERS IN THE WARNING AREAS SHOULD SEEK SAFE HARBOUR AND RESIDENTS IN THE WARNING AREAS SHOULD STAY INDOORS AND AWAY FROM WINDOWS WHEN CONDITIONS WORSEN.
