Cable Subscribers on Grand Bahama, Abaco and Eleuthera to benefit from free weekend after service disruption

CABLE Bahamas has offered a free weekend of premium services for its Grand Bahama, Abaco and Eleuthera customers after TV services were affected during an upgrade exercise last month.

All cable subscribers on those islands will have free access to all premium cable TV packages from 8am Friday, December 6 through 8am Monday, December 9.

This includes all premium TV services, including movie packages and digital music channels, as well as the company’s top premium sports packages.

According to Cable Bahamas’ head of marketing David Burrows, although they responded immediately to the problem in an effort to get the technical issues resolved as quickly as possible, they wanted to provide their customers with something of “real value to balance out some of that frustration.”

“Every single one of our subscribers are important to us,” Mr Burrows said.

“We know that people love their cable TV services and anything that gets in the way of that enjoyment is a serious matter for us.”

Cable Bahamas said the issues were caused by equipment and service upgrades which began on Wednesday, November 27.

A number of channels and the Video on Demand service were impacted.

The completion of the 48-hour upgrade process resulted in the resolution of the problems for some of Cable Bahamas’ subscribers.

Mr Burrows noted that the free weekend will provide access to almost 400 channels.

“This week, you’ll be able to all the NFL games like Seahawks vs San Francisco, top NBA match-ups like San Antonio Spurs versus the Indiana Pacers, and great movies Pacific Rim, Epic, We’re the Millers and Man of Steel, as well as enjoy many other movie options,” he said.

“This is to show our appreciation for our customers’ patience for the trouble they may have experienced. We hope this provides some extra pleasure and enjoyment over the weekend.”

Mr Burrows reminded all parents to ensure that their parental control features are activated during this time.

Cable Bahamas encouraged any cable TV subscribers experiencing signal or channel issues to report them immediately by phone (Nassau: 601-2200; Grand Bahama: 602-8800; or toll free from any other island at 1-242-300-2200) or e-mail: info@cablebahamas.com.
