MIKIKO Black will have to wait at least another week to be sentenced for killing her Defence Force husband.

Her sentencing before Justice Vera Watkins was adjourned yesterday until next Friday after her attorney, Moses Bain, said he wanted to call a few witnesses to the stand on behalf of his client.

Earlier he had heavily scrutinised a probation report on Black provided by the probationary officer Christina Swain.

Mr Bain suggested to Ms Swain that the report she prepared was both unfair and unprofessional.

Mr Bain asked Ms Swain if she thought the report was fair. She replied: “I don’t ‘think’ it is fair. I know it is fair.”

He told the Justice that he opposed submitting the report into evidence not on legal grounds, but because the report “was biased.”

However, the report was still submitted.

Black was found guilty of manslaughter in July of killing her Defence Force husband on April 19, 2010.
