Man in hospital after stabbing

POLICE are investigating a stabbing in Abaco that left one man in hospital.

The incident occurred shortly after 1am on Sunday.

It is reported that while at a sports bar in Marsh Harbour, the victim was attacked by a group of men and was stabbed several times.

He was taken to the Marsh Harbour Government Clinic by private vehicle and seen by the doctor there.

The man was later transported to New Providence for further medical treatment. He was listed in serious condition last night.

Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to call 367-2560 or 367-3437 in Abaco; or 350-3107/8, 911 or 919 in Grand Bahama.

• A 35-year-old man is in police custody after officers confiscated a black semi-automatic pistol at a nightclub in Abaco.

Reports are that around 4.10am on Saturday,the officers got a tip which led them to the Dundas Town club. They found the gun during a search and detained the man for questioning at the Marsh Harbour Police Station.

Officers said he later complained of abdominal pain and was moved from the holding area to another room. They said while he was being moved, the man assaulted an officer and escaped, but was later captured in bushes near the Government Complex.

He was transported to New Providence as investigations continue.
