Downtown Subway robbers tie up employee

ROBBERS made a daring daylight raid on the Charlotte Street branch of Subway yesterday morning, targeting an eatery that is popular with both locals and tourists, and located just a stone’s throw from the international cruise ship terminal.

Police confirmed that an incident had occurred, but did not release details before press time last night.

However, The Tribune understands the incident took place early in the morning, when only one employee was present.

Sources within the company confirmed that the robbers tied the employee up and made off with cash.

It is not known how many culprits were involved, nor with what they might have been armed.

More needs to be done in terms of crime in the country. There seems to be an increasing amount of turmoil happening.

They need to put that officer in that tacky wooden booth in the middle of the road on bay street, on the actual road to curve this crime. Yes of course this has hardly nothing to do with the above topic, but damn that booth is old school and tacky, it needs to be destroyed. I hate seeing it downtown, the tourist even laugh at it and the officers look very stupid in it. Put better use to your officers and let some of these old, overweight, nasty attitude officers work in the offices, instead of the brand new cars. They cant even chase a criminal on foot, the car is their excuse. Fitness should be enforced on the force, too much peas n rice n pork etc got some of them not wanting to even exit the issued cars to properly address crime because of the fact that they so fat and lazy.

LOL, I agree, but unfortunately with the exception of U.S state police and special units around the world fat cops are the norm...

Crime has plagued people living over the hill for decades, its just that now the criminals have multiplied and the restraints are gone bringing them into tourist area's and gated communities.. People are more desperate and the flow of guns sames endless.. Few people had guns when i was growing up in Nassau, but Robberies were plenty.. Crime statistic are such a load of crap.. The numbers are manipulated constantly, they find ways to change a theft into a robbery, attempted murder into causing harm, sexual assault into sexual harassment or close cases in a rush.. Case numbers are pulled for b.s. to generate positive events to off balance the negative equation and throw of the math to the positive side.. We have people sitting on there ass collecting checks in desk jobs that should be out fighting crime.. Police work has become about manipulating numbers not fighting crime... Lastly the RBPF is a brutal agency that does not have the public's trust.. The fact is they beat people especially the poor creating barriers of communication.. They are bold, arrogant, aggressive, abusive, creating fear and intimidation in poor people, therefore I cannot see any progress on the crime problem without first dealing with professionalism inside the RBPF. Its bad enough that many people have relatives involved in this crime but those in communities who are not a part of this are afraid of the criminals and the Police.
