THE number of lawyers practising in The Bahamas increased by six after the Admissions to The Bahamas Bar Ceremony in the Supreme Court on Friday.

Rosanne Sweeting, Jade Fowler, Al-leecia Delancy, Zia Lewis, Candice Mullings and Gabrielle Turnquest appeared before Chief Justice Sir Michael Barnett seeking to be admitted having studied for a number of years.

The Chief Justice accepted their petitions, presented by six established and practising attorneys, before asking the six to “take the Oath and sign the Roll”.

On doing so, the six received a welcome from Sir Michael Barnett and Bahamas Bar Association President, Elsworth Johnson.

Lewis replied on behalf of the new attorneys.

Harvy Tynes, QC, Brian Moree, QC, Cleopatra Christie, Anthony Thompson, Marion Bethel and Dion Smith presented the petitions of the new lawyers.
