Woman molested in attack by armed robbers

AN attack in which a woman was sexually molested is one of three armed robberies under investigation by police.

The incident took place on Thursday of last week at around 8pm, when the woman was walking in Farrington Road.

A man armed with what police only described as “an object” accosted her, forcing the victim into some nearby bushes.

He sexually assaulted the woman, robbed her of some cash and then fled the scene on foot.

The attacker was described as being a dark man. He was wearing a hooded jacked and a tam.

On Friday, another person was robbed while walking on Farrington Road, again at around 8pm.

A man approached the victim with a handgun and robbed him of cash before fleeing on foot.

He was described as a dark, slim man with narrow features, wearing a camouflage shirt and a dark grey pants.

Then, just after 9pm, Friday’s second victim was on Nassau Street when a man armed with a handgun robbed him of cash.

This suspect was wearing a green sweater, camouflage pants and a mask.

The sad reality of life in New Providence is that there are few places where it is safe to walk the streets, especially at night. Bahamians are prisoners in their own country. Shame on this government and past administrations for allowing this situation to develop. Only a government of National Unity with a zero tolerance approach to crime and corruption has any hope of turning things around.
