A WEBSHOP courier became the country’s latest homicide when he was shot in the face multiple times after dropping off money to his employer’s main office on East Bay Street.
The victim, who police sources identified as Wesley “Shakey” Nixon, was killed in broad daylight as he sat in his white Dodge pick-up truck after he left the Asue Draw building.
Police said the gunman wore a red wig in an effort to make himself unrecognisable.
At around 8am, Central Detective Unit Chief Paul Rolle said police received calls that gun shots had been heard in the area.
Initially, police said that the man had just left the building after picking up company funds. Later, police sources said they were certain the suspect did not get away with any substantial amount of money because the victim had secured the deposit inside the building before he was shot. However, police said the suspect did rob Nixon of personal funds before they left the scene.
“Officers,” he said, “responded to the scene where, upon arrival, they met a male sitting in a truck suffering from apparent gun shot injuries to the face. EMS responded to the scene, examined the male and pronounced him dead.
“Occupants of, we believe, a green Honda Civic pulled up. One male (then) exited from the right passenger door of this vehicle and approached the male in the truck where he discharged the shots into the truck striking the victim to the face. He then grabbed a bag from the inside of the truck and returned to the vehicle and they sped off.
“Officers, acting on information, went to the area of Okra Hill where we recovered a green Honda Civic fitting the description (and) we believe that the vehicle was used in this robbery.”
Police are asking members of the public to come forward with any information that they might have to assist in solving the case.
When The Tribune contacted Asue Draw owner Kenneth Fountain, he insisted he had no details of what happened as he was not in New Providence at the time.

Inside job. They weren't watching him or they would have caught him before he went in. They were called and told "he's here now"...at least that's my theory.

Right before Christmas too...crying shame. I've been wondering how it is that persons have become so desensitized when it comes to murdering another person. How is it that one can just walk up to someone and shoot them in the face multiple times? I've heard that we're going actually experiencing a drug epidemic (not marijuana or cocaine either). Criminals are taking these drugs which strip them of their conscience and enables them to commit these acts. I don't know how true it is but it should be looked into.

The police have used enough yellow tape over the past 10 years to stretch from Lyford Cay in the West to Montagu in the East. A month should be dedicated next year, early next year where persona can post pictures, memorabilia or flowers of their loved ones in Rawson Square, during a time when the house is in session. Let reality hit home with homicide.

They should be made legal, to be taxed so as to ease the burden of future taxes. If it was made legal, that would have allowed the money to be transported safely. No thanks for the USAhelp.

P.M has a plan in his head, keeps it between him and God.. 4000 cops make up RBPF, despite a backwards justice system that's enough Cops to cause drastic reductions in crime just by inconvieniencing a criminal.. I look at the organisational structure and something does not make sense to me, too many people sitting on there ass in desk job with Bankers work hours.. Give me 200 cops and equipment and i can reduce crime in Nassau.. The Criminals are riding around in stolen or unregistered cars, run there plates and stop them, search the cars and arrest them constantly...Everyday, all day, everyday, all day.. As soon as they get out of jail computer check the cars that pick them up and arrest them again, because its probably stolen... Seize there guns, Seize there vehicles disrupt there lives...
