Funeral home adds 'green-burning' crematorium

CEDAR Crest and Yager Funeral Homes and Crematorium recently commissioned its newest crematorium, a state of the art “green-burning” unit at Cedar Crest Funeral Home on Robinson Road and First Street. This new crematorium has been designed using the latest technology available with a specific focus on the environment.

Ruby Murdoch-Hill, Cedar Crest’s proprietor, said that “in addition to the new crematorium, Cedar Crest has completely refurbished its premises and grounds as the company is committed to ensuring that it continuously provides a high level of service and that families are able to make final arrangements in a completely modern and comfortable environment.”

She said “her employees share her focus on customer service and the company’s two nationally licensed funeral directors are fully trained and experienced in the latest technology available and are equally committed to providing families with the most flexible financial arrangements in finalizing arrangements for their loved ones.”

The new crematorium has been designed with an automatic pollution monitoring and control system, a unique feature included to ensure that the stack gasses are automatically monitored to avoid environmental emissions.

“This unique design was added as Cedar Crest wants to continue to play a significant role in protecting our environment and ensuring the very best care with every cremation service that we complete on your behalf,” Mrs. Murdoch-Hill said.

Cedar Crest’s complete line of services include “pre-needs,” a funeral arrangement preparation made prior to passing, grief-counseling, funeral services and cremations. The company first opened in 1981.
