MILLER

APPOINTMENTS

DURING the Pan American Sports Organisation Extraordinary General Assembly held over the weekend in Kingston, Jamaica, Bahamas Olympic Committee president Wellington Miller was appointed to two special committees.

Miller was first appointed to the Sports & Environment Commission and also to the Co-ordination Commission of the XVII Pan Am Games that will be held in Toronto, Canada in 2015.

Miller was unavailable for comments on the appointments on his return home.

DEATH NOTICE

WHILE the Bahamas Association of Athletic Associations has extended its condolences to the Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association on the passing of their former president Teddy McCook, the association is also mourning the loss of King Charlton, the father of Olympic coach David Charlton.

The elder Charlton passed away Monday morning following a massive heart attack. McCook passed away on Monday afternoon.

“It is also with regret that I inform you of the passing of our NACAC president Mr. Neville ‘Teddy’ McCook at approximately 1:20pm this afternoon following a brief illness,” BAAA’s president Mike Sands said.

“Let us all keep these families in our prayers during their hours of bereavement.”

Sands was also referring to the Charlton family.
